A few weeks ago, the Shutterbugs Photography Group and several Elders spent an afternoon at 9 Mile Legacy Brewing Company learning about their beer and enjoying some cold pints! We wanted to share with you some of the pictures the group snapped during their visit.

A big thank you to the entire 9 Mile team for opening their doors early for us, for the wonderful service, and for being so accommodating! We hope you all enjoy the pictures:)

This morning, our Veterans Village received some help during its annual summer pancake breakfast. Race truck driver Pat Gibeault woke up early to help prepare breakfast and then show his truck to Elders and staff!

A big thank you to Pat for his generosity and we wish him luck in tomorrow’s Race For a Cure event at the Wyant Group Raceway.

First Responders do so much for the community, which is why our Elders wanted to thank them for all that they do. The result was our second annual First Responders Barbecue!

Today, we were honoured to have members from Saskatoon Fire Department and Saskatoon Paramedics spend some quality time with our Elders and enjoy a delicious BBQ burger.

The idea came from directly from our Elders and it was wonderful to see it come to fruition. We even lucked out with some fantastic weather!

The event would not have been possible without the hard work of our amazing staff and dedicated volunteers. We also want to thank The Cave Restaurant for their generous donation that helped pay for the food that was enjoyed by everyone. It is wonderful having the support of great local businesses like The Cave Restaurant!

What do you love about Saskatchewan? That’s the question Saskatchewan authors Krista McDivitt and Michael Slobodian are asking people across the province this summer for a book project called thesaskloveproject.

Today, Krista and Michael met several Elders in our Arts Studio and gathered some great responses! If you would like to contribute to their book project, there are forms available in the Arts Studio.

We wish Krista and Michael the best of luck with their book and we can’t wait to read the stories of our Elders!

Our Shutterbugs Photography Club had a fantastic time this week at 9 Mile Legacy Brewing Company! The club explored the brewery to learn about the history of 9 Mile, how the beer is made and all the different types of beer served.

It was also great to have some of our Elders who love their beer come and enjoy a cold pint on a hot summer day!

We cant wait to share with you the photos our club members snapped. In the meantime, here's a glimpse of what the afternoon was like.

A big thank you to the 9 Mile staff for their incredible hospitality! They opened their doors two hours early so that our Elders would have unlimited access to the brewery. It was a very kind gesture and we sure hope to return soon!

It's like deja vu all over again!

Tomorrow morning, starting at 10am, our water will be turned off. City crews were unable to complete their work today so they will continue Friday morning.

What does that mean for our community? Well, we currently have water in our building and there is no boil water advisory. So that's good!

What's also good is how everyone pulled together today to make the best of this situation!! Thank you so much and we are counting on your energy and enthusiasm tomorrow:)

It also means we get to publish this photo of Jen again!

Thank you again for your cooperation and we will keep you updated on the situation.

On Thursday, we want everyone to be like Jen and bring a water bottle!

That's because the water will be shut off in our building from 9am-5pm. The City of Saskatoon is replacing the water lines in front of Sherbrooke before it repaves the street.

That means tomorrow will be a bit of a different day here at Sherbrooke.

• The Community Day Program has been cancelled.
• Pool activities have been cancelled.
• There will be no toilet flushing - pails of water will be available if flushing is necessary.
• Blue jugs with drinking water will be available in each neighbourhood.
• The kitchen will be functioning normally.
• Paper plates will be used in the Village.
• Staff are encouraged to be like Jen and bring a water bottle to work.
• Signs will be posted on the front door indicating no washrooms are available.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and really do appreciate your understanding!
