We love a sweet story and this certainly qualifies! The Girl Guides Club in Delisle created these works of art and presented them to veterans in our Veterans Village. They are lovely!

We also wanted to remind you that our Remembrance Day ceremony will take place in the Tawaw Centre Monday morning starting around 10:45. The ceremony will be live streamed on our Facebook page and there will be overflow seating in the Tom McLellan Room.

This week, several of our veterans from Veterans Village were honoured by the students and staff at St. Philip School in Saskatoon. Their service to Canada was recognized during a Remembrance Day ceremony, and our veterans had a great time meeting so many enthusiastic young students.

For thirty years, St. Philip School has been a wonderful friend to Sherbrooke. We want to thank all of the St. Philip students and staff for recognizing our veterans and honouring them in such a meaningful way.

We love this story!

David Fox, whose daugher, Alison, is one of our Occupational Therapists, wrote a book about his father's brave service in the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII. Alison brought that book to Sherbrooke this week and shared it with several of the veterans in Veterans Village. It sparked a lot of meaningful discussion and some incredible stories!

In this photo, Alison is speaking with Hank, one of our Elders who served in the Canadian Armed Forces in WWII. We would like to thank David Fox for writing this book and to Alison for sharing it with our community!

For the past week, Gillian Higuit has been spending time with our Elders and staff as part of a student career program! Gillian is a grade 12 student from Aberdeen and wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She also loves music and art, which meant she spent a lot time in the Arts Studio and working with Candace on various music programs with Elders.

Thank you for bringing our community a lot of joy and enthusiasm, Gillian! Best of luck in your future studies!

Thank you to all of our Elders and staff for making Gillian feel so welcomed in our community these past five days:)
