Brad was a wanted man today!

This morning, Robin was wanting Brad to stay in Sunshine Lane for a neighbourhood meeting. Lindsey, however, was hoping Brad would come for a workout in the physiotherapy gym.

Brad was content to let Robin and Lindsey battle it out for his companionship:)

In the end, Brad went for a workout with Lindsey but promised Robin to attend next week's neighbourhood meeting!

Our Elders spend the afternoon with award winning Saskatchewan artist, Lorenzo Dupuis! Lorenzo shared his inspiration and artistic process through an engaging presentation to Elders.

It was pretty neat to learn from an artist who has had his work shown in galleries across Canada, and we can't wait to see how it rubs off on our Elders in the Creative Arts Studio!

Thank you for coming, Lorenzo:)

A message from iGen teacher, Keri Albert...

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the Sherbrooke community for helping us raise $635.40 for our student/Elder camp coming up this spring. We are so grateful for the support! Our bake sale would never have been a success without all of you!"

Sherbrooke is a proud to practice the Eden Alternative philosophy of care and its Seven Domains of Well-being. The seven domains serve as a framework for asking thoughtful questions that help identify the unmet needs of Elders that we care for.

One of seven domains of well-being is AUTONOMY. What do we mean by autonomy? Sherbrooke's Manager of Learning and Growth, Robin Kitchen, is here to explain!

Please feel free to visit our website or The Eden Alternative's website to learn more about the domains of well-being.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

We celebrated Valentine's Day in style today! In the morning, the iGen class helped Elders to make homemade chocolates and then took part in a spirited game of Love Jeopardy. The students also handed out Valentines that were made for our Elders by the great team at 7shifts in Saskatoon!

In the afternoon, our community gathered in the Tawaw Centre for a special 'Name That Tune' love song edition hosted by Wes and Lois! Our Elders really know their love songs!!

We hope all of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day:)

We are proud of our Dementia Inclusive Initiative as we work to end the segregation of Elders with dementia in our community.

One of the best ways to end segregation and combat stigma is through education. That's what happened this morning with the iGen class.

Our own Colleen Grieman and Robin Kitchen delivered a fantastic presentation to iGen students centered around dementia and the changes that occur to Elders who have dementia. Colleen and Robin also showed our Dementia Inclusive Initiative video.

The iGen students play such an important role in our community. Their energy and kindness make a difference in the lives of Elders and we were thrilled to include them in our Dementia Inclusive Initiative education today!

Saskatoon's Mykal Gambull has quickly become a fan-favourite here at Sherbrooke! Our Elders love his unique voice and honest approach to blues music.

Mykal was gracious enough to spend the afternoon performing before a packed Tawaw Centre today. Thank you for stopping by, Mykal, and we hope to see you again soon!

We had an amazing adventure at Table Mountain - Official Page this week! Brandon and Dave carved up the hill with help of Darwin and Al on the sit-ski while Danny and Donovan cheered them on from the comforts of the chalet.

This trip was a team effort so thank you to everyone who helped make it possible!

We also want to thank Lawrence and his staff at Table Mountain. Not only did they welcome us with open arms, they gave our Elders and staff free lift passes and equipment for the day! Plus...they helped push the bus when it got stuck in the snow😀

It was a really wonderful day and we hope you enjoy the video!
