Sherbrooke's Dementia Inclusive Initiative strives to end the segregation of Elders in secure neighbourhoods by unlocking their doors and having our entire community embrace them!

One of the keys to this initiative's success is educating and supporting our hundreds of volunteers. That's why we created this education video to help our volunteers understand why we created the dementia inclusive initiative and how we are implementing it.

We will be showing this video to all of our volunteers as part of our dementia inclusive education plan, but we also wanted to share it with all of you!

We are proud of the work being done with the dementia inclusive initiative and thank you for all of your feedback and support as we strive to end segregation within our community.

A special thanks to Saskatoon's Britainy Zapshalla for all of her work in creating this video!

Some of you might know about the weekly Happy Hour held in Veterans Village every Thursday. Yesterday, we took Happy Hour to the next level with a pub crawl throughout Sherbrooke!

Kinsmen Village and First Neighbourhoods hosted this week's pub crawl with each location serving a unique drink. Not only was it fun to try out some different drinks, but it was a great way for Elders to visit different places within our community!

We will be hosting these pub crawls on the next few Thursday afternoons so perhaps we'll see you there:)

A bit of a debate broke out during Wes Froese's musical hour this afternoon. You see, Wes was sporting a new beard which seemed to...irritate...some of our Elders! While others absolutely loved Wes' beard.

What do you think? Should the beard stay or go?? Let Wes know in the comments below:)

A big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to not only end the outbreak but who helped with all the creative activities that helped Elders stay busy and engaged in their neighborhoods during the outbreak! Due to the Outbreak situation in our community, we are postponing next Monday's Diners’ Club event. It has been rescheduled to February 24th.

Elders' accounts had not been charged yet, so they do not need to seek a refund. However, if you paid by cash, please contact the business office next Monday at 306-655-3641 and Bonnie will help you get your money back.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as our community continues to work hard to overcome this outbreak!
