Our Elders and staff in the Villages have been cooking up a storm!

Ricardo, who loves cooking, prepared burritos for his fellow Elders in House 2 last week! The meal received 5-Star reviews:)

Last week in Veterans Village, staff made the most of the warm temperatures by barbecuing for our Veterans!

It's wonderful to see our houses and neighbourhoods coming together to enjoy great meals.

Our singing telegrams are a big hit! Thank you to everyone who has sent a request. The songs are bringing Elders so much joy!

We captured Candace performing a classic Elvis tune for Ross in his room this week. It's pretty darn sweet:)

If you would like to send a singing telegram request, please send an email to Mark Trew. Mark.Trew@saskhealthauthority.ca with your name, the Elder's name, a message and a song request. The musicians and singers of Sherbrooke will do their best to help deliver your love to Elders!

Last week, we made the difficult decision to close our Therapies Gym. However, our staff are now setting up gym spaces in the neighbourhoods and villages for Elders like Mervin!

From Sherbrooke Physiotherapist, Deanna Harbidge, who helped set up a gym space in Third Neighbourhoods:

"In the same way that many of us have set up a home gym to exercise during this time of social distancing, our Elders need opportunities to move, and with a little extra support, they are able to do so!"

The days are getting longer which is why the timing was perfect for Elders in House 10 to make sun catchers with our staff! They used colouring pages, vegetable oil and mason jar lids to make the sun catchers and then hung them in the dining room window. Our Elders and staff chose that window so that there would be something beautiful to look at during meals:)

It's wonderful seeing the resourcefulness and creativity of our community during this challenging time!
